AI Video Generation Enters Real-Time Era: Sora vs Veo3 vs Kling

There’s been a lot of activity in AI video generation lately. Sora appears to be working on a next-gen version, Veo3 keeps iterating from Google, and Kling continues to evolve. Today I’m skipping the specs and focusing on real usage experience.

Is Real-Time Generation Real or Just Hype?

The term covers two different things:

  1. Generation speed is fast enough that it feels near-instant
  2. Generation while playback, like a livestream

The second is still half-baked. The first? Already achievable.

Sora’s Performance

Overall, Sora remains strongest at physical world simulation. But problems are obvious: generation is still relatively slow, and understanding complex scenes is problematic.

Veo3’s Performance

Google’s Veo3 delivers genuinely impressive video quality. But give it complex instructions and sometimes it gets sequences mixed up.

Kling’s Differentiation

Kling has a genuine advantage in Chinese-language contexts. Its understanding of Chinese culture and ability to follow Chinese instructions both outpace Sora and Veo3.

My Recommendation

For creative content with visual impact as the priority? Veo3 remains the top choice.

For marketing content and social media? Kling’s cost-performance ratio and Chinese capabilities are more practical.

This space is evolving too fast. Stay informed, but don’t all-in on any single platform.
