Qianwen Turned PPT Into an 'Agent': Soon You Might Really Just Talk to Make Slides

I saw a piece of news a couple days ago — Qianwen’s PPT function completed its “PPT Agent” upgrade, using a brand new agent architecture.

Honestly, this upgrade came faster than I expected.

What’s a PPT Agent?

Put simply, you tell the AI what kind of PPT you want, and the AI automatically completes the entire process: write content, layout, beautify, generate file — all you need to do is speak one sentence.

This might not sound new — there have been one-click PPT generation tools on the market for a while. But the word “Agent” in this context implies deeper automation: AI can understand your intent, then autonomously decide execution steps, rather than simply filling templates.

What I’m More Interested In Is the Technical Logic Behind It

The core of Qianwen’s upgrade this time is “multi-step reasoning + tool calling.” That is, AI doesn’t just generate content — it first understands your needs, then plans execution steps, then calls different tool modules to complete the task.

For example, if you want to make a product introduction PPT, AI will first plan: extract core product selling points → write copy → choose appropriate template → adjust layout → export file. At each step, AI knows which tool to use and how to coordinate.

This model is much smarter than traditional “template filling.”

What This Means for Regular Users

The most direct impact is: in the future, making PPTs really can become “talk, don’t move hands.” For people who need to make presentation slides several times a week, this feature genuinely improves efficiency.

But I’m also thinking: when AI makes PPTs better than most people, will the value of the PPT format itself be diluted?

After all, the original point of PPT was to help people organize their thoughts and present viewpoints. If the thoughts are all from AI, is the PPT still your viewpoint?

This is a bigger topic, so I won’t expand on it today. But I think it’s something everyone using AI tools should consider.

Do you guys use AI to make PPTs?
